Furthering image creation

We furthered our work on image creation and also did some simple animation sequences. Here is a deconstructed Hazel in order to be able to manipulate her different body parts separately to create a better quality animation.

Although Joe is far better skilled at using flash than I am, I have to have the skills necessary to use Flash, we taught me some more about the programme today!

  1. Good- again more detail needed. Tell us, what you learnt and how you have been applying it. This alone is not enough, I'm afraid (sorry!).

  2. Well.. I already had some basic knowledge of how to use Flash, but on this occasion, Joe was teaching me how to separate each of Hazel's body components (in photoshop) and then import them separately into Flash. This enables us to them be able to move them individually, rather than moving Hazel as a whole. Having her components separated makes it possible to have her completely different actions, such as walking, talking, twitching her tail etc.

To make her walk for example, you 'group' together all the components apart from her legs. This then keeps them together as a whole as you do not need to individually manipulate these parts. Create your first 'key frame' of Hazel standing still. You then move along in the time frame (half a second for example) and tilt her right leg forward and create another 'key frame'. You then create a "motion tween" between the first key frame and the second. Repeat this for the other leg and essentially you have made Hazel walk two steps! :) Walking is a simple action, but there are more complex ones involving far more components than this which (at this point in time) we had not yet tackled!
